This page contains a collection of pictures that my family, myself, or other people have taken at various times.
In July of 2007, I began taking horseback riding lessons again. I've ridden a number of times before over the years but not on a regular basis very often. Here are some pictures that a friend took of me and the horse that I'm working with, a red roam horse named Rye. For the record, Rye stands 16.2 hands at the withers or shoulders.
Here I am about to start the lesson.
Here are several pictures of me brushing Rye. I've learned a lot about the different tools used to groom a horse. There's much more involved than simply bathing and giving them a once over with a brush.
Here I am riding bareback on Rye with the instructor leading us.
Here I am at the end of the lesson feeding Rye cookies. Okay, they're not real cookies but horse snacks; it was still fun though and something we regularly do.
On 10/11/06, there was a large celebration for White Cane Day in downtown Austin, TX. Here are a few pictures that I took of the event using my camera phone. I actually took quite a few, but due to restrictions of what you can and cannot publish online, these are the only ones that made the cut.

This is a picture of the state capitol in downtown Austin.

Here's a picture of a fountain the park where the after party was after the big march down Congress Avenue.

A picture of the 2006 White Cane Day t-shirt. Every year,a different shirt is made and sold to participants. I think that this shirt represented the event pretty well.
The Sensory Safari is a collection of stuffed and mounted animals that the Safari Club International puts together for blind people to explore and look at. The following two pictures are taken at this event at the 2006 National Federation of the Blind's annual convention in Dallas. I took these pictures with my Nokia 6682 cell phone running Talks, which is software that gives the blind person total access to the phone. And, as you can see, a blind person can even take pictures with their phone.

This is apicture of a black bear and me, with some animals visible behind us.

This is me standing beside a golden takin, which is from China.
These pictures were taken by both of my parents at different times, or by other people, when I went to Guatemala from August 17 to August 23, 2005. Since I was unable to post these on my blog, they will be posted here with the appropriate dates and photo descriptions. If you would like to read my journal on my Guatemala trip, then look for the entries beginning in late August and going to early September, 2005, on my blog.
In this picture I am standing in the hot springs with some greenery behind me.

Here's the final picture of me in the hot springs, but this time, there's a wall behind me.

Here's a shot of the Mayan carved stones at La Democracia. We stopped in our journey back from Irtra at these carved stones, which were made centuries ago and have lasted since then to today. They were really awesome to look at and explore.
